Sea Turtle Rescue Centre 

Every year, about 300 sea turtles find themselves stranded on Greece’s beaches and in need of rescue or care. Not only do the volunteers at this rescue center provide care for the stranded animals, but they also run a campaign to protect their European habitat.

Saints Constantine and Helen Cathedral 

While this church in Glyfada does look different on the outside, it is still one of Greece’s most picturesque services. Completed in 1934, it has the Byzantine tetraconch design (four apses). Over the last decade, the interior has been entirely overhauled and the church’s old frescoes have been replaced.

Athens 

Athens is a prime sightseeing destination in the modern era, with many ancient sites to explore and admire. It’s hard to find anything new to say about Athens, but there are some places worth visiting and seeing again. The Acropolis is one of those places – it contains so much history that it’s hard to catch on the first time around!

Glyfada’s streets have been planned like a pedestrian mall, with the buildings extending out on long towers that are broken up by passages lined with yet more.

Astir Beach 

This is one of the few 100% sandy beaches in the Athens area and is on the west side of a narrow road where pine trees surround it.

Asteras Beach 

There are lots of activities that can be done at this beach next to Athens which is accessible with affordable entry fees. You won’t be tempted to spend the whole day here without having anything better to do, and you won’t need to get up too often either.

Glyfada Beach 

For beach access, Glyfada resorts offer sandy beaches by the seashore, a nightclub & restaurant near the headland, and a public beach towards the north. Both beaches are long and rocky. They are not as well-maintained as the private beaches, but still, have a variety of amenities around them. The public beaches close to Glyfada’s shops, cafes, and restaurants aren’t very far away at all.

Voula Beach 

Aliki Point is a beach near the center of Athens, which has a free entrance fee. Sun loungers and parasols are included in that fee, which makes Voula Beach ideal for day trips with friends or family members.

Faliron 

Travel to the Flisvos Marina and you’ll find scores of super-yachts owned by magnates, sheiks, and oligarchs. But don’t get distracted from the yacht scene on the marina – there’s a park nearby where you can relax or grab a bite at one of the restaurants.

Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre 

To get a good day out without going too far, plan a trip to this recent cultural center that is just from Faliro Bay in Kallithea.

Vari 

In the same way, Mikrolimeno in Piraeus has a reputation for its seafood, and Vari is also known for meat. The scent of charcoal wafts on the breeze in Vari, emanating from the many grill houses.

Panagia Faneromeni, Vouliagmeni 

On the outside Panagia Faneromeni has clean, curving lines taken from Cycladic art. You will be dazzled by Byzantine-style frescoes when you pass through the doors. The painter George Kordis painted them in a few months during the early 1900s.

Vouliagmeni Lake 

What you would usually never find in the Mediterranean is a freshwater lake on the peninsula of Vouliagmeni. It is fed by a spring and rises to form an impressive presence when seen from high above Mount Hymettus.

Nightlife 

As expected in a cosmopolitan city like Athens, the nightlife in Glyfada has the most up-to-date trends. With flashy cocktail bars like Holy Spirit and MOMIX, as well as elegant wine bars like Vinarte, you’re bound to have a great time here.

Glyfada Golf Club 

In 1962, the world’s foremost golf club was founded in Glyfada. It is still the best place to play golf in Greece, with a beautiful landscape and natural creek. This 18-hole course was landscaped by the feted architect David Harradine, and it was later remodeled by another famous designer Robert Trent Jones in 1978. Green fees are pretty reasonable considering this heritage, with 18 holes costing €50.00, an additional €10.00 for membership, and a free offering to national junior members under 16 years old.
