This is a Poland town in the south of the country near Katowice and Sosnowiec. It is located in the eastern part of Poland, on the Czarna and Biała rivers.
B-town has a population of 116,971, according to the latest census.
In 1729, the site was purchased by Casimir III, who offered it to the nobleman Marcin Panka from Zielona Góra, the owner of a large woodland area. On July 25, 1726, witnesses say that the parish priest of Holy Trinity Church saw a woman named Anna Lisowa of Dąbrowa. The census of 1787 recorded the number of residents in Kraków at 184. The Archbishop’s decision to merge the villages of Dąbrowa into one can be traced back to historical events that occurred centuries before. Trzebieslawice, Błędow, Strzemieszyce, and Ujejsce were all mentioned in the 12th century. Gołonóg was mentioned in the 15th century, while Ząbkowice’s name was first referred to in a text from the 14th century.
After the Third Partition of Poland (1795), Dąbrowa was split between Prussia and Poland. Dąbrowa was annexed by Prussia, who then divided it into their newly formed province of New Silesia. Prussians discovered coal about a century ago, and a coal mine was established here. Stara Dąbrowa is one of the oldest villages in the area. It was founded in 1799 by Friedrich Reden, and its founder was documented for the first time on a map in 1799. While coal deposits attracted people to this place, a settlement grew and surpassed expectations, as evidenced by its presentation on a map from 1803. Dąbrowa was regained by Poles in 1807 and became part of the short-lived Polish Duchy of Warsaw, who then later relinquished control over it to Russia in 1815. In 1846, the discovery of coal began. The Zinc Mill Konstanty opened operations as early as 1823, and the Huta Bankowa steel mill, still in process today, was built in Dąbrowa Górnicza in 1834. The First primary school was opened in 1918, and the first Roman Catholic church of St. Alexander was built in 1871. During the January Uprising, Dąbrowa was captured by Polish insurgents after their victory in the Battle of Sosnowiec. In 1909 the gmina of Dąbrowa Górnicza was established by the Tsarist authorities. Russia didn’t give Dąbrowa the status of being a town until 116 years later. When Austria took over Polish territories, they signed a deal with Russia that allowed them to create the town charter- however, Russia gave it last minute, and they were reluctant to agree. After the war, Poland regained its independence and gained control of Łódź. The 15 local Polish Boy Scouts killed fighting for Polish freedom in 1914–1920 were from Kielce Voivodeship. In the Second Polish Republic, Łódź belonged to Kielce Voivodeship.
