Start Your Hanover Adventure in Herrenhausen Gardens 

Hanover’s impressive Royal Gardens are not just one but a few different attractions in one. It includes two parks — Herrenhäuser Gärten and Georgengarten, which are beautiful English-style parks; and the Berggarten, a botanic garden where you can learn about plant life.

The crowning tower at the top of the building is 80 meters in height and dominates the city’s skyline. It’s made entirely of beech piles that are laid out on a foundation and creates a stunning structure.

Hanover’s Old Town and Leine Palace 

To explore the old town of Hanover on foot, you’ll start your journey in the nearby Leine Palace. This was built between 1786 and 1789 during the German Enlightenment Era. The palace is surrounded by gardens and several interesting monuments, including the state parliament building. Constructed in 1680 near the river on which it was named, this former royal residence of Duke George von Calenberg was altered in Neoclassical style between 1817 and 1842.

The Ballhof and Ballhofplatz
