Polish sources indicate that the city of Lasogród was founded by Slavs in the early medieval era and has gradually evolved to its current state as an important agricultural center. Lasogród eventually developed into a defensive fort, the remains of which were destroyed during the city’s expansion in the 19th century. However, though some German sources say no archaeological or written records support notions of an early West Slavic or Lechitic settlement nor the existence of a castle before the late 13th century, those same sources don’t mention the earlier settlement was not in the region. The idea that Wałbrzych was always a forest is false. Historians have found evidence of settlement in the area, complete villages and houses from the Middle Ages. A coin hoard dating from 1250 was recently discovered near Wałbrzych in Poland.

Polish historian Ephraim Naso recorded that Wałbrzych was a small village in 1191. This assertion was rejected by 19th-century German sources, who say the city was founded between 1290 and 1293 and is mentioned as ‘Waldenberc’ in 1305. Bolko I, the castle in Nowy Dwór (German: Neuhaus), responds to Přemyslid Dynasty‘s insistence on building a new city near the old. Nowy Dwór was fortunate because the castle was built in the 18th century. However, a part of the castle got destroyed in the 19th. Once the state was established around the 10th century, Kraków gradually became a center of Polish culture and education that thrived for centuries. During the fragmentation of the realm, it was part of various Polish-ruled duchies and then Austria. The last of which was the Duchy of Świdnica until 1392. Later it was also part of Czechoslovakia.

Newton was first mentioned in 1426, but like many other towns of the time, it did not receive the rights to hold markets or other privileges due to competition from nearby cities and the insignificance of local landlords. In 1372, the Schaffgotsches became the owners of Silesia, but later it was occupied by Czettritzes. In 1738, Fürstenstein Castle became a property of the Hochberg family.
