Beauvais Cathedral

Maladrerie Saint-Lazare

The oldest buildings date from the 1100s, and it is easy to identify the three main parts: a barn and sheepfold to the north, a romanesque chapel in the center, and plague remain to the south.

Château de Troissereux

This is the best part, as there is a greenhouse with 45 varieties of trees (many of which were planted in the 1700s), a 330-meter canal, and birds such as herons, swans, geese, and kingfishers.

Beauvais is located in a small historical region called the “Pays Beauvais.” A green lung of the Oise is often called the “poumon vert de l’Oise” (green lung of the Oise) or the “green escape.” At the confluence of the Thérain and Avelon Rivers, both tributaries of the Oise, the Beauvais countryside is abundant with water.
