Parc de la Planchette

The greenery of Levallois-Perret is one of its most enticing features; almost half of the suburb is parkland. Upon entering the Parc de la Planchette, it will become clear that you are in a quiet, residential part of Paris, where parents take their children to the playgrounds, office workers run in the mornings, and couples stroll.

Maison de la Pêche et de la Nature

This tiny museum reveals the aquatic life of the Seine at the upper end of the Île de la Jatte. Freshwater fish such as pikes, sculpins, and catfish are kept in several tanks at the attraction.

Grand Palais

Built for the Universal Exposition in 1900, the Grand Palais is a magnificent Beaux-Arts building on the right bank of the Seine. Under a vaulted glass canopy, a steel and iron framework supports a stone base.

Petit Palais

Located on Avenue Winston Churchill opposite the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais is also in the Beaux-Arts style and was constructed for the Universal Exposition. The 1,300 works are tapestries, sculptures, paintings, icons, and applied art.

Marché Poncelet

Nestled between grand Haussmann apartment buildings in the posh 17th Arrondissement neighboring Levallois-Perret is a top-notch market. Fishermen, butchers, wine merchants, and gourmet and artisan food purveyors set up stalls here, not a disorganized bazaar.

Folie Saint-James

The treasurer of the French Navy, Claude Baudard de Saint James, built this house and garden during the 1770s. Saint James even told François-Joseph Bélanger to create whatever he wanted as long as it was expensive. It resulted in a park that was criticized for its excess over taste at the time but has recently been restored and reopened to the public.

Musée Cernuschi

Henri Cernuschi founded the Musée Cernuschi in 1898 in his home facing Parc Monceau, in the house of his namesake. The enormous bronze Buddha of Meguro cast in Japan in the early 1700s was among the 5,000 pieces Cernuschi collected as a banker and avid Asian art collector.
