Meudon is a municipality located in the southwest suburbs of Paris, France, and it is located in the Hauts-de-Seine department. In terms of distance from the center of Paris, it is 9.1 km away. Many historic monuments and some extraordinary trees can be found in the city.

History
The argile plastique clay at Meudon was extensively mined during the 19th century. These deposits contain the fossil of Gastornis parisiensis, the first European diatryma discovered by Gaston Planté.
According to archaeological sites, there has been human habitation in Meudon since the Neolithic era.
Mol-Dum (dune) was the Gaulish name for the area, and Moldunum became the Roman name.
For the care of aged persons and orphans, the attractive Galliera Institutions on Fleury’s hill were founded by the duchess of Galliera. 1885 marked the completion of the buildings.
Renaissance style was applied to reconstruct the old castle of Meudon in the mid-sixteenth century. As the residence of Louis XIV’s son Louis, the Dauphin, Meudon became a center of aristocratic life under his rule. In 1711, after the Dauphin’s death, the château was neglected, emptied in the Revolutionary sales, and finally burned in 1871 by Prussian forces at the end of the Franco-Prussian War. 1877 saw the foundation of a branch of the Paris Observatory. There are some rewarding views of Paris from the observatory at the top of the Meudon town hall, which is 43 meters (141.08 feet) above Paris.
